AI workloads expose upload and latency gaps in India's 5G networks
India, July 7 -- India's rapid 5G rollout has positioned the country among the world's leading mobile markets, with nationwide deployments by Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, while Vodafone Idea continues to expand its own 5G footprint. The country now ranks ninth globally for median 5G download speeds. However, a new study from Ookla suggests that download performance alone is no longer enough to measure network quality in the AI era.
According to Ookla's latest report, India's 5G networks continue to face challenges in upload capacity and latency, two metrics that are becoming increasingly important as consumers and enterprises rely more heavily on cloud-based artificial intelligence applications.
