Hanoi, Aug. 19 -- Vietnam has been named the world's top culinary destination for 2026 in the NZ Herald Travel Readers' Choice Awards, voted by readers of international travel publication The New Zealand Herald (NZ Herald). Vietnam surpassed renowned food destinations including Italy, Japan, Thailand and France to take the top spot. According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism's Information Centre, the top 10 culinary destinations are Vietnam, Italy, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Melbourne (Australia), France, Auckland, Wellington and Hawke's Bay (New Zealand).
