Vietnam spends over 121.5 million USD on diamond imports in first half
Hanoi, July 9 -- Vietnam spent about 3.16 trillion VND (more than 121.5 million USD) on diamond imports in the first six months of 2026, with imports from India accounting for more than half of the total value. Preliminary data released by the Department of Customs under the Ministry of Finance show that Vietnam purchased diamond worth nearly 121.54 million USD during the first half. India remained the largest supplier, with the value reaching 63.2 million USD, representing around 52% of Vietnam's total diamond imports. For comparison, Vietnam imported 107.6 million USD worth of diamond from India throughout 2025.
