Hanoi, Oct. 6 -- Vietnam exported 6.4 million tonnes of rice worth 3.11 billion USD in the first nine months of 2026, down 6.1% in volume and 10.9% in value year on year as global demand weakened and export prices fell. However, some markets, notably China and Iraq, recorded strong growth. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment said the average export price during the period was estimated at 484.8 USD per tonne, down 5.1% from the same period last year. The Philippines remained Vietnam's largest rice export market, accounting for 40.9% of total shipments. China ranked second with a 17.4% share, followed by Ghana with 12.7%.
