Vientiane, March 24 -- The Party, State and people of Vietnam have consistently supported the comprehensive reform process of Laos and always stood side by side with the neighbouring country, giving it the highest priority in the cause of national defence, construction and development, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam has said.

During a visit on March 23 to Lao Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane following his approval as Deputy Prime Minister by the 10th National Assembly, Ambassador Tam conveyed congratulatory messages from Vietnamese leaders to their Lao counterparts.
