Vietnam, Australia eye 20 bln USD trade target
Sydney, Aug. 8 -- More than two years after upgrading ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Vietnam and Australia are eyeing a rapid expansion into new sectors and aiming to push bilateral trade to 20 billion USD fast.
Tran Thi Thanh My, head of the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia, told the Vietnam News Agency that the partnership framework, established in March 2024, has injected more confidence into business communities, fueling trade and investment.
Bilateral trade held above 14 billion USD during 2024-2025, up from under 10 billion USD in 2020. Vietnam's exports to Australia have surged, jumping from roughly 3.6 billion USD in 2020 to around 6.8 billion USD in 2025. The result was a much more balanced trade ledger, with i...
