Quang Tri, Feb. 25 -- The mine action team of PeaceTrees Vietnam on February 24 said it had coordinated with the Quang Tri provincial Military Command to safely dispose of a wartime bomb weighing more than 226kg. The bomb, identified as an MK82, was discovered by a resident in Kim Ngan commune while she was digging soil to rebuild her yard in preparation for the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2026. Alarmed by the discovery, her family immediately halted construction and reported to local authorities. Upon receiving a request from the provincial Military Command, PeaceTrees Vietnam promptly deployed a specialised team to the site.
