Hanoi, March 18 -- U Aung Lin Dwe, a member of parliament from the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), was elected as Speaker of Myanmar's Amyotha Hluttaw (Upper House) in its first session on March 18. According to the state-owned Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV), the first day of the first regular session saw full attendance, with all 213 members of parliament present. On March 16, U Khin Yi was elected as Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw (Lower House) during the first day of its first regular session.
