Kuala Lumpur, July 10 -- Malaysia has unveiled a strategic framework to safeguard the country against future cyber threats posed by quantum computing, introducing a national post-quantum cryptography migration plan and a quantum cryptography sandbox. As reported by the country's national news agency Bernama, when launching the National Security Month 2026 on July 9, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysia must shift from conventional security methods to a more comprehensive strategy to address rapidly evolving threats, including emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), post-quantum cryptography and drones.
