Indonesia, Singapore ink agreement on nuclear safety cooperation
Jakarta, July 1 -- Indonesia's Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (Bapeten) and Singapore's National Environment Agency (NEA) on June 30 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on nuclear regulatory cooperation, focusing on radiation protection, nuclear safety, security and safeguards. The agreement was signed in Jakarta by NEA Interim Chief Executive Officer Benjamin Koh and Acting Chairman of Bapeten Zainal Arifin. Under the MoU, the two sides will cooperate through joint training programmes, personnel exchanges, scientific research and technical meetings aimed at strengthening regulatory and oversight capacity in the nuclear sector.
