Lao Cai, April 2 -- Total import - export turnover through the Lao Cai International Border Gate, the northern province of Lao Cai, reached nearly 425 million USD in the first quarter of 2026, marking a year-on-year rise of 49%, according to local customs authorities. Head of the border gate's customs unit Tran Anh Tu said exports were valued at over 192.5 million USD while imports exceeded 232 million USD during the period. Customs data show that 342 enterprises are currently engaged in import and export activities via the Lao Cai gateway.
