Tel Aviv, Aug. 22 -- Cambodia has approved imports of Israeli citrus fruit, beginning in the coming season, following the completion of a professional approval process between Israel's Plant Protection and Inspection Services and Cambodian authorities.
The clearance covers oranges, clementines, lemons, grapefruit and pomelos.
Israel's Citrus Growers Association estimates the Cambodian market could absorb around 10,000 tonnes of Israeli citrus per year.
Oren Lavi, director-general of Israel's Agriculture and Food Security Ministry, said the approval is part of a wider push to strengthen Israeli farmers' position in overseas markets.
