8th National Congress of Vietnam War Veterans' Association kicks off
Hanoi, June 17 -- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and State President To Lam attended and delivered a speech at the opening of the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam War Veterans' Association (VWVA) for the 2026-2031 term, in Hanoi on June 17. The congress brought together 456 delegates representing more than three million war veterans nationwide. Under the theme of promoting the traditions of loyalty, solidarity, exemplary conduct and innovation, the event is tasked with reviewing the association's performance over the past term and setting priorities for the next five years.
