New Delhi, Sept. 23 -- Health Care At Home India Pvt Ltd (HCAH), an out-of-hospital healthcare provider for rehabilitation and recovery backed by private-equity firms such as Quadria Capital GP, Foundation PE, Temasek-backed ABC Impact, has appointed a healthcare industry veteran as the new chief executive more than a year after the previous head vacated the post.
HCAH on Wednesday named Sudhir Bahl as board member and chief executive officer to lead the company's growth and scale up its presence across rehabilitation, recovery and out-of-hospital care.
This appointment comes more than a year after Vivek Srivastava, HCAH's founder, announced his resignation from the company on social media last June.
The newly inducted Bahl has experience in leadership roles at hospital networks, diagnostic centers, fertility chains and the private-equity industry. Within the private-equity space he previously served as the COO at ICICI Ventures, India operations director at TVM Capital International (Dubai), and founder and chief executive of LifeForce Capital.
His experience in the healthcare sector includes senior management positions at GE Healthcare and Apollo Hospitals, serving as president and COO at Nova IVF, CEO of Milann IVF and group managing director at Bourn Hall International Fertility Clinics, Dubai.
HCAH intends to scale up its rehabilitation offering across India, using its clinical capabilities, multidisciplinary care model and operating network. The company said the market will increasingly favour specialised providers capable of delivering consistent clinical outcomes at scale. To this end, HCAH plans to build a nationally integrated recovery ecosystem spanning centre-based rehabilitation, home-based care and technology-enabled services.
"HCAH has been at the forefront of building the rehabilitation and recovery category in India, establishing clinical models and care pathways that have helped shape the market," Bahl said in a statement.
"My mandate is to build on that foundation and lead HCAH into its next phase of growth."
HCAH operates across more than 70 cities, has a panel of over 2,000 specialists, and has treated more than 5 million patients since its inception in 2012. Its rehabilitation centres are led by physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists, who are supported by teams comprising doctors, physiotherapists, nurses and allied healthcare professionals.
