New Delhi, Sept. 15 -- Flam, an AI-native interactive content platform, has secured $40 million (Rs 383 crore) in its Series B funding round led by global venture capital firm QED Investors.
Claypond Capital, the family investment office of Manipal Hospitals head Ranjan Pai, and high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), including American entrepreneurs Martin Chavez, Olivier Pomel and Venky Harinarayan, and Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan, also participated in the round. Existing investors RTP Global and Dovetail also doubled down on their investment.
Founded in 2021, Flam builds immersive, interactive content for marketing, advertising, and e-commerce. The startup is headquartered in San Francisco, with teams in India and Japan.
"Content has moved in waves, from text to images to video, and every wave flowed one way, creator to viewer. We think interactive is the next default for the internet," said Shourya Agarwal, founder of Flam. "The demand was always there. The technology wasn' t. We have made interactivity effortless to build and deploy at enterprise scale."
Flam will use the capital for research and developments of its AI models, expanding its product suite, and scaling enterprise sales globally.
"Almost every frontier AI content company we see is optimizing what already exists. Flam pointed at something else: how much of the content ecosystem is still untouched. That opportunity is bigger than most people think, and Flam is the first team we've seen with the infrastructure to go after it," said Nigel Morris, co-founder and managing partner at QED Investors.
Flam holds more than 15 patents and offers three formats: Flicks, interactive videos that switch person, product, or scene mid-playback; Airboards, 3D content on a camera interface, with touch, voice interactions, and haptic feedback; and Visual Agents, which are human-like characters that hold conversations and take agentic actions.
Its customers use it for marketing, product visualization, learning and development, entertainment, fan engagement, customer support and sales.
The startup has more than 100 enterprise clients, including Google, Reliance, and Hyundai.
The Series B round comes about 16 months after Flam secured $14 million (around Rs 119 crore then) in May 2025 in its Series A round led by RTP Global, with participation from Dovetail and existing investors. In May 2024, it raised $4.5 million (Rs 38 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round from a host of investors including new investors Turbostart, AI-focussed Twin Ventures and Alphatron Capital.
