New Delhi, July 10 -- Multi-fund early-stage investment platform Atrium has launched a new investment vehicle and appointed a new general partner as it expands its focus to frontier artificial intelligence startups, VCCircle has learned.
The appointment comes as Atrium expands beyond its India-focussed investment vehicles into backing frontier artificial intelligence (AI) startups founded by Indian-origin entrepreneurs in the US.
Vinit Bhansali has joined as general partner at Atrium Frontier Fund, where he is expected to work closely with Indian-origin founders building such startups in the US, VCCircle has learned.
He spent nearly five years at Orios Venture Partners, where he led investments across consumer technology and enterprise technology startups. Before joining Atrium, he also served on the investment committee of the JITO Incubation & Innovation Foundation (JIIF).
At Orios, Bhansali rose through the ranks from vice president to senior vice president and led deal sourcing, investments and the firm's Misfits founder programme. Prior to venture capital, he founded construction marketplace Buildkar.com and RFID solutions company CopperSpiral RFID.
Bhansali was also involved in setting up Takshil Venture Partners, a proposed $30 million venture capital fund focussed on SaaS, fintech and B2B commerce startups, along with Giridhar Malpani. The capital raising, however, appears to have stalled before the fund could achieve a final close, VCCircle has learned.
Atrium Frontier Fund is the firm's latest investment vehicle and targets companies building across applied vertical AI, agentic workflows, consumer AI and AI infrastructure.
Founded by Indian School of Business alumni in 2021 as Atrium Angels, the platform has since evolved into a multi-fund venture capital firm. Besides its flagship ISB-focussed angel fund, Atrium now operates Atrium Ventures, which invests in fintech and B2B startups, and Consumer Collective by Atrium, a fund focussed on consumer brands and consumer technology companies.
The platform's investment portfolio includes startups such as 91Trucks, SuperK, Zoplar, Lissun, ZenStatement, Centriti, Beepkart, StockGro, CashFlo, Lemnisk, GoodMeetings and FunctionUp.
