New Delhi, July 31 -- Private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC) deal activity and the total capital raised remained broadly flat in the week ended July 31, as the market continued to see an absence of large, headline grabbing transactions, data compiled by VCCircle showed.
At least 17 companies raised a combined $190 million (around Rs 1,811 crore) during the five day period ended Friday, almost unchanged from the $191 million raised by 17 companies in the previous week. Once again, the lack of any deal above the $50 million mark kept overall investment value subdued.
Mobility, pharmaceuticals, agritech and climate technology emerged as some of the most active sectors for fundraising during the week.
Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Ltd topped the funding charts after bagging $33.8 million from Lightrock. RPG Active Pharma followed with a $25.3 million investment from InvAscent, while IndiaMART InterMESH secured $25 million from Nalanda Capital. Agritech startup Arboreal Bioinnovations and battery recycling company Lohum also raised $24 million each.
Other notable deals included Prime Pharmaceuticals, Aham Housing Finance, Sid's Farm, Fixxly, Omega Seiki Mobility, Revspot, Suind, House of Student, Yaanendriya, Hegdinvst, Recykal and Truth & Hair. Oxane Partners, Vault and 90+ My Tuition App also announced fundraising during the week, although they did not disclose the financial terms.
