India, Aug. 29 -- Between 1994 and 1999, at different times, it participated in the NATO Operation Deny Flight/Decisive Endeavour, conducted against Bosnia-Herzegovina, by being deployed to Ghedi Airfield (ITALY), and became the squadron with the most flight hours in the Turkish Air Force with 4600 operational flight hours during the operation. Within the scope of Operation Deny Flight, in March 1994, the 161st Squadron carried out the first ever night time in-flight refuelling in the history of the Turkish Air Force.
