The University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa ranked in nearly 20 academic subjects in the 2026 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects released in September 2026, including four subjects that placed among the top 16 in the country and another six placed in the nation's top 27.

Oceanography ranked No. 4 in the U.S. and No. 6 globally, while atmospheric science ranked No. 9 in the U.S. and No. 15 worldwide. Geography tied for No. 14 in the U.S. and No. 51-75 tier in the world, and hospitality and tourism management ranked No. 16 in the U.S. and No....
