Today, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA), a member of the Senate Armed Services and Senate Foreign Relations Committees, spoke on the Senate floor on his bipartisan War Powers Resolution to ensure any U.S. participation in hostilities against Iran is explicitly authorized by Congress. The bipartisan resolution, which Kaine introduced on January 29 (https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-joint-resolution/104), is privileged and will be called up for a vote in coming days. It would not prevent the U.S. from defending itself or Israel from an Iranian attack.
