ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,662,456, issued on June 23, was assigned to Zevra Therapeutics Inc. (Celebration, Fla.).
"Dextrorphan prodrugs and processes for making and using them" was invented by Travis Mickle (Celebration, Fla.), Sven Guenther (Coralville, Iowa) and Sanjib Bera (Blacksburg, Va.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The presently described technology provides compositions of one or more of oxoacids, polyethylene glycols, and vitamin compounds chemically conjugated to dextrorphan, (+)-17-methylmorphinan-3-ol), to form novel prodrugs and compositions of levorphanol."
The patent was filed on May 6, 2024, under Application No. 18/655,883.
