ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,595,287, issued on April 7, was assigned to Yale University (New Haven, Conn.).
"Leptospiral proteins and uses thereof" was invented by Joseph Vinetz (New Haven, Conn.) and Michael Matthias (New Haven, Conn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention provides compositions and methods for using Leptospiral virulence modifying (VM) proteins or fragments or fusions thereof, as vaccines and as therapeutic agents for the treatment of cancer."
The patent was filed on Feb. 4, 2021, under Application No. 17/760,134.
