ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,661,051, issued on June 23, was assigned to Welch Allyn Inc. (Skaneateles Falls, N.Y.).
"Electrocardiogram interpretation" was invented by Patrick James Noffke (Hartland, Wis.), Nicoletta Marzocchi (Bologna, Italy), Reyhaneh Sepehr (Fox Point, Wis.) and Eugene G. Urrutia (Apex, N.C.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system for interpreting an electrocardiogram identifies a segment of the electrocardiogram having an abnormality using a machine learning algorithm. The system assigns an interpretation output to the segment of the electrocardiogram having the abnormality. The interpretation output describes a morphology of the abnormality."
