ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,669,302, issued on June 30, was assigned to Wedge Tail Industries R&D Pty Ltd (Camberwell, Australia).
"Firearm suppressor" was invented by Alexander Charles Knott (Victoria, Australia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A firearm suppressor including an inner chamber and an outer chamber surrounding the inner chamber, wherein the firearm suppressor includes at least one vane, the vane having an edge across which fluid flows, said edge of the vane having a labyrinth weir formation to assist with energy dissipation as the fluid flows across the labyrinth weir."
The patent was filed on Dec. 23, 2022, under Application No. 18/722,075.
