ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,644,969, issued on June 2, was assigned to Waymo LLC (Mountain View, Calif.).

"Three terminal broad area laser" was invented by David Schleuning (Mountain View, Calif.), Pierre-Yves Droz (Mountain View, Calif.), Augusto Tazzoli (Mountain View, Calif.), Vadim Gutnik (Mountain View, Calif.) and Pablo Hopman (Mountain View, Calif.).
