ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,730,040, issued on Sept. 8, was assigned to Waters Technologies Corp. (Milford, Mass.).

"Chelator based eluents for solid phase extraction of phosphorylated compounds" was invented by Xiaoxiao Liu (Natick, Mass.), Matthew Lauber (North Smithfield, R.I.) and Michael Donegan (Charlton, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present technology relates to a method for improved recovery of phosphorylated compounds (e.g., phosphorylated glycans). In particular, the present technology utilizes certain chelator additives in a solution to wash and elute the phosphorylated compounds from a solid phase extraction cartridge."
