US Patent Issued to Walters Gardens on June 30 for "Epimedium plant named 'Carnival Clown'" (Michigan Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. PP37,504, issued on June 30, was assigned to Walters Gardens Inc (Zeeland, Mich.).

"Epimedium plant named 'Carnival Clown'" was invented by Hans A. Hansen (Zeeland, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new cultivar of Epimedium plant named 'Carnival Clown' characterized by its medium-sized perennial habit and evergreen foliage with flowering in panicles beginning in the late spring that have spurs with yellowish tips and centers and bright orange in the middle.
