ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,599,454, issued on April 14, was assigned to ViaLase Inc. (Aliso Viejo, Calif.).

"Mechanisms and methods to control movement of a head of a medical system relative to an anatomical site" was invented by Guy Holland (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.), Virginia Lin (Newport Beach, Calif.), Wesley W. Lummis (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.), Ferenc Raksi (Mission Viejo, Calif.), Nathan Sangalang (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) and Joselito T. Tambo (Irvine, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A delivery arm assembly of a medical system includes a head having an end arranged to face a reference plane and a multistage slide mechanism coupled to the head. ...
