ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,566,500, issued on March 3, was assigned to Varjo Technologies Oy (Helsinki).

"Wearable device integrating light-guiding element for gaze-tracking system" was invented by Perttu Keinanen (Helsinki), Mikko Ollila (Tampere, Finland) and Kaj Saarinen (Helsinki).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed is a device with a gaze-tracking system having a plurality of light emitters and at least one light sensor; and a light-guiding element implemented with respect to an optical element of the device, wherein the light-guiding element at least directs light emitted by the plurality of light emitters towards an eye of a user."
