ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,594,113, issued on April 7, was assigned to Varian Medical Systems Inc. (Palo Alto, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A probe for performing an ablation treatment includes a shell defining an outer surface and a cryogen supply conduit positioned in the shell. The probe also includes a flexible circuit positioned on at least a portion of the outer surface of the shell. The flexible circuit includes at least one radio frequency (RF) emitter for delivering RF energy to a target tissue."
