ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,703,870, issued on Aug. 11, was assigned to UT-Battelle LLC (Oak Ridge, Tenn.).
"Regulation of root development" was invented by Tao Yao (Oak Ridge, Tenn.), Jin-Gui Chen (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) and Wellington Muchero (Oak Ridge, Tenn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure provides methods to genetically engineer plants by manipulating the expression of the PtrXB38 polypeptide to increase root development. Also provided are genetically engineer plants that can be obtained by the methods according to the present disclosure."
