US Patent Issued to USWM CT on March 31 for "T cell modification" (British Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,589,151, issued on March 31, was assigned to USWM CT LLC (Louisville, Ky.).

"T cell modification" was invented by Luca Melchiori (Oxfordshire, Great Britain) and Joanna Brewer (Oxfordshire, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides a modified T cell or population of modified T cells comprising a heterologous recombinant T cell receptor (TCR) and heterologous recombinant co-receptor, additionally provided are methods of producing the modified T cell or population of modified T cells and their use in the treatment of cancer."
