US Patent Issued to University of Seoul Industry Cooperation Foundation on May 12 for "DNA based biodegradable resin composition" (South Korean Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,624,233, issued on May 12, was assigned to University of Seoul Industry Cooperation Foundation (Seoul, South Korea).

"DNA based biodegradable resin composition" was invented by Jong Bum Lee (Seoul, South Korea) and Hyunsu Jeon (Seoul, South Korea).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure relates to a DNA-based biodegradable resin composition. The DNA resin composition prepared by combining DNA as a polymer and Bipyridine-based compound as a flocculant has excellent physical properties and biodegradability, so it can be used as a bioplastic material."
