ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,576,128, issued on March 17, was assigned to University of Massachusetts (Westborough, Mass.).

"Genetically engineered microorganisms and methods of use" was invented by Vanni Bucci (Brookline, Mass.), Benedikt Mortzfeld (Cumberland, R.I.) and Jacob Palmer (Oxford, Great Britain).
