ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,662,669, issued on June 23, was assigned to University of Massachusetts (Westborough, Mass.).

"RAAV-based compositions and methods for treating amyotrophic lateral sclerosis" was invented by Christian Mueller (Worcester, Mass.) and Robert H. Brown Jr. (Worcester, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to inhibitory nucleic acids and rAAV-based compositions, methods and kits useful for treating Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis."

The patent was filed on July 31, 2023, under Application No. 18/362,190.
