ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,559,793, issued on Feb. 24, was assigned to Uh-Oh Labs Inc. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Looped primer and loop-de-loop method for detecting target nucleic acid" was invented by Cameron Scott Ball (Sunnyvale, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure provides a novel loop-de-loop method of detecting a target nucleic acid using a biosensor-labeled oligonucleotide. Further provided herein is a looped primer and a kit for use in the method."

The patent was filed on July 14, 2023, under Application No. 18/353,050.
