ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,708,642, issued on Aug. 18, was assigned to UCB BIOSCIENCES INC. (Morrisville, N.C.).

"Prodrugs of deoxynucleosides for treatment of diseases caused by unbalanced nucleotide pools" was invented by Daniel DiPietro (Brooklyn, N.Y.).
