ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,729,169, issued on Sept. 8, was assigned to THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL (Chapel Hill, N.C.).
"Direct aromatic carbon-oxygen and carbon-hydrogen bond functionalization via organic photoredox catalyst" was invented by Zibo Li (Chapel Hill, N.C.), David Nicewicz (Durham, N.C.) and Wei Chen (Chapel Hill, N.C.).
