ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,661,289, issued on June 23, was assigned to THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT AS REPRESENTED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS (Washington).

"Portable patient lift" was invented by Andrew Hansen (Apple Valley, Minn.), Steve M. Morin (Minneapolis), Ashley Crooks (St. Cloud, Minn.), Alexandra S. Bornstein (Minneapolis) and Eric Nickel (Minneapolis).
