ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,599,892, issued on April 14, was assigned to The Procter & Gamble Co. (Cincinnati) and The Regents of the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Mich.).
"Microplastic removal using adhesives" was invented by Dimitris Ioannis Collias (Mason, Ohio), Anne McNeil (Ann Arbor, Mich.), Paul Takunda Chazovachii (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Woojung Ji (Ann Arbor, Mich.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Articles comprising pressure-sensitive adhesives and methods of their use for removing micro- and nanoplastic particles from various media, including wastewater effluent, laundry effluent, and indoor air, are disclosed."
