ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,559,600, issued on Feb. 24, was assigned to The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong).

"Polyethylene composite for flexible display screen" was invented by Ping Gao (Hong Kong), Qiao Gu (Hong Kong) and Zichao Dai (Hong Kong).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A composite material and methods for making a foldable material are provided. The composite material includes ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and a hard coating material, a portion of the hard coating material being infiltrated into the UHMWPE. The UHMWPE has a highly porous structure of polyethylene and the hard coating material is in a liquid form...
