US Patent Issued to The Gillette on June 2 for "Method of coating a razor blade" (Massachusetts Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,643,249, issued on June 2, was assigned to The Gillette Co. LLC (Boston).

"Method of coating a razor blade" was invented by Kenneth James Skrobis (Maynard, Mass.), Jason Scott Slattery (Malden, Mass.), Jonathan Raymond Petrie (Braintree, Mass.) and Lauren Michelle Salisbury (Braintree, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of making a razor blade by forming a cutting edge on a substrate having an outer bonding surface. A first self-assembled monolayer having a non-fluorinated organic material is deposited on the outer bonding surface of the substrate."
