ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 14 -- United States Patent no. 12,683,813, issued on July 14, was assigned to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (Hsinchu, Taiwan).

"Physically unclonable function (PUF) generation" was invented by Shih-Lien Linus Lu (Hsinchu, Taiwan), Jui-Che Tsai (Tainan City, Taiwan) and Cheng-En Lee (Hsinchu City, Taiwan).
