ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,717,080, issued on Aug. 25, was assigned to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (Hsinchu, Taiwan).

"Signal communication through optical-engine based interconnect component" was invented by Hsing-Kuo Hsia (Jhubei City, Taiwan), Chen-Hua Yu (Hsinchu, Taiwan), Chih-Wei Tseng (Hsinchu, Taiwan) and Jui Lin Chao (New Taipei City, Taiwan).
