US Patent Issued to T-Mobile USA on July 21 for "Subscriber service validation using SUCI cleartext" (Washington Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,689,970, issued on July 21, was assigned to T-Mobile USA Inc. (Bellevue, Wash.).

"Subscriber service validation using SUCI cleartext" was invented by Kunal Prakash Barawkar (Bothell, Wash.), Romil Kumar Sood (Bothell, Wash.) and Suresh Thanneeru (Bothell, Wash.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Subscriber service validation using subscription concealed identifier (SUCI) cleartext is disclosed. When a user equipment (UE) attempts to register with a wireless network, it sends its SUCI which has an encrypted subscription permanent identifier (SUPI), but also a routing indicator in cleartext (unencrypted).
