ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 26 -- United States Patent no. PP37,447, issued on May 26, was assigned to Syngenta Crop Protection AG (Basel, Switzerland).

"Pentas plant named 'PEZZ0023'" was invented by Jaemin Lee (Gilroy, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new Pentas plant named 'PEZZ0023' particularly distinguished by the large sized inflorescences and flowers, with pink flowers, dark-green foliage, semi-trailing, sturdy and vigorous growth habit, thick stems and branches on a well-branched plant, tolerates hot summer conditions with continuous summer flowering."

The patent was filed on Nov. 10, 2025, under Application No. 19/384,161.
