ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. PP37,536, issued on July 21, was assigned to Syngenta Crop Protection AG (Basel, Switzerland).

"Catharanthus plant named 'CARZ0007'" was invented by Jaemin Lee (Gilroy, Calif.) and Jaqueline Fregoso (Gilroy, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "'CARZ0007' is a product of a planned breeding program. The new cultivar 'CARZ0007' has medium-strong red colored flowers, excellent flower production, moderate plant size and uniform mounding and semi-spreading habit with medium green foliage."

The patent was filed on Nov. 4, 2025, under Application No. 19/378,966.
