ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,599,100, issued on April 14, was assigned to SYNGENTA CROP PROTECTION AG (Basel, Switzerland).
"Pepper cultivar navelito" was invented by Matthieu Nicolas (Sarrians, France) and Benny Nir (Shikmim, Israel).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides novel pepper plants and plant parts, seed, fruit, and tissue culture therefrom. The invention also provides methods for producing a pepper plant by crossing the pepper plants of the invention with themselves or another pepper plant. The invention also provides plants produced from such a crossing as well as plant parts, seed, fruit, and tissue culture therefrom."
