ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,564,566, issued on March 3, was assigned to Swinburne University of Technology (Hawthorn, Australia).

"Uses of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids" was invented by Andrew Pipingas (Mount Waverley, Australia) and Andrew Scholey (Clifton Hill, Australia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention is directed to methods of acutely improving or enhancing cardiovascular and/or cognitive function, comprising the administration of LCPUFAs, in particular docosahexanoic acid (DHA), uses and compositions thereof."
