ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,581,789, issued on March 17, was assigned to Swift Solar Inc. (San Carlos, Calif.).
"Module layup for perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells" was invented by Tomas Leijtens (Redwood City, Calif.), Jiang Huang (San Jose, Calif.) and In Cheon Baik (Redwood City, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Solar cell modules and methods of fabrication are described. In an embodiment, a pair of tandem solar cells are bonded together along a contact ledge of a first tandem solar cell using a solid electrically conductive bonding material."
The patent was filed on Aug. 30, 2023, under Application No. 18/458,868.
